There are many water spots on the way to the top of the hill and people there believe the water is of the sacred river Ganga. As a result of this, the hillock gained its name as Shivagange. The stone carving of ‘Nandi’- the bull is a major attraction of the place and attracts a lot of visitors. The place is also known as Dakshina Kashi or Kashi of South India because of the many temples situated here.
