Descending North East India for a good break from your boring life. The region is famous for its breathtaking natural beauty and cultural richness. The Assam-Nagaland tour, beginning from Assam, will cover Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchong, Tuensang, Mon and Johrat. The journey will take you to the tribal villages, wildlife sanctuaries and Naga tribes.

ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1: Assam (Arrival)
Upon arrival at Jorhat airport from Kolkata, meet our tour representative and drive towards Dimapur (160 kilometers/ 4 hours drive). Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Assam-Kohima
In the morning, hit the road to Kohima (80 kilometers/ 3 hours drive). In the afternoon, visit the war memorial. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Kohima-Dzulakie-Khonoma Village- Kohima
In the morning, set off for a full day tour of Dzulakie (40 kilometers) and Khonoma village (20 kilometers). Stay overnight in Kohima.
Day 4: Kohima- Wokha
In the morning, leave by road for Wokha (80 kilometers/ 4 hours). The place is known for its hilltop villages. Longzu, means a large Monolithis, have been erected by the rich ancestors to show off their status. Stay overnight in the tourist lodge.
Day 5: Wokha- Mokokchong
In the morning, hit the road to Mokokchong, home of Ao Naga and great place for people who are interested in folklore customs and traditions. Stay overnight in Mokokchong.
Day 6: Mokokchong (sightseeing)
Day 6 is fully dedicated to the exploration of tribal village and meeting with the local people. Stay overnight in Mokokchong.
Day 7: Mokokchong- Tuensang
In the morning, hit the road to Tuensang, home to Yimchungers, Khiamungans, Changs, Semas, Sangtams and Phoms Nagas. Stay overnight in Tuensang.
Day 8: Tuesang- Mon
In the morning, leave by road for Mon (150 kilometers/ Approx 8 hrs drive), the homeland of the Konyak tribe known for their exquisite craftsmanship. Here, one can purchase excellent wood carvings and machete. Stay overnight in Mon.
Day 9: Mon-Johrat
In the morning, drive towards Jorhat. Stay overnight in Chung Bungalow/hotel.
Day 10: Kaziranga
Today, drive towards the Brahmaputra river and board the ferry to visit the Majuli Island. In the evening, return back to Jorhat Ghat and drive towards Kaziranga (110 kilometers/ 2.5 hours). Stay overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 11: Kaziranga National Park
Early morning, set off for an elephant safari followed by a jeep safari. Stay overnight at Kaziranga.
Day 12: Departure
Post breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the Guwahati airport (250 kilometers/ 5.5 hours drive) to board flight to Bagdogra/ Kolkata, New Delhi/Mumbai.
