In India, there is about  437 types of tribes generally we found , and in Odisha (Orissa), the number is sixty-two. According to 1991 Census, in Odisha (Orissa) the total strength of tribal population is approximately seven million. Odisha (Orissa) occupies a unique position in the ethnographic map of India for having the largest variety of tribal communities. Being one of the fascinating ethnographic states of the country. The tribal population of the state constitutes 22.43 percent of the total population of the state and 7.76 percent of the total tribal population of the country.

Although they are found in all the districts of the state. Yet more than half of their total strength are found in three districts namely koraput, Malkanagiri, sundergarh and Mayurbhanj. The most primitive tribes are Dunguri Kondh, colorful Bond Tribes, Gadaba Tribes who still live in high hill and have retained their culture and traditions intact till today. Other tribes are Kutia, Paraja, Rana, Malli and Dhuruva who live in remote villages have still preserved their culture and traditions.

ITINERARY DETAILS

DAY 01:- BHUBANESWAR

Arrival Bhubaneswar and visit the temples from 8 th to 12 th century. Overnight stay at Bhubaneswar.

DAY 02:- PURI

Drive to Puri en route visit world famous Konark Sun Temple. Afternoon visit Raghurajpur a heritage village trend on many art, dance and craft. evening   relax in the beach. Overnight stay in a beach side hotel.

DAY 03:- CHILIKA LAKE – TAPTAPANI

Drive to Satapada (Chilika Lake) (55KM and Hrs approx) to take the motor boat to meet the Dolphin and sea mouth. Cross the lake to the other part of the lake and further drive to Taptapani. Enjoy the hotsulpher bath. Overnight stay at Taptapani tourist bungalow surrounded with beautiful nature.

 DAY 04:- RAYAGADA

Drive to Bissam Cuttack area (120KM & 3 HRS approx)to meet the d KONDH TRIBES in their weekly market( commence on Tuesday). Further drive to Rayagada for overnight stay in Rayagada.

DAY 05:- CHATIKONA – JAYAPORE

During morning drive to Chatikona (40KM & 01 HRS approx) to meet the DUNGURIA KONDH TRIBES in their weekly market  ( commence on Wednesday) where they sale their horticultural products such as papaya, Jack fruit, Pine apple and in exchange they take kerosene, salt, chicken etc. After few hours in the market further drive to jeypore (160KM & 4HRS approx) for over night stay in Jaypore Hotel.

DAY 06:- GADABA TRIBAL VILLAGE

During morning drive to Onkudeli area (80KM & 2 HRS approx) to meet the most colorful BONDA TRIBES in their weekly market( commence on Thursday) . Share the alcohol with Bonda women and meet the Bonda men with bow and arrow. During afternoon visit the near by GADABA TRIBAL VILLAGE. Back to Jeypore for over night stay in the same hotel.

DAY 07:- KUNDULI

Drive to Kundli (120M & 3 HRS approx) to meet the PARAJA & RANA tribe in their largest weekly market. After few hours in the market further drive back to Jeypore for overnight stay in the same hotel.

DAY 08:- GUPTESWAR

After breakfast drive to Gupteswar Area ( 130KM & 3 HRS approx) to witness the famous Shiva shrine. During afternoon drive to Baligaon to meet the DHURUVA TRIBES in their weekly market. After few hours in the market further drive to Jeypore for overnight stay in same Hotel.

DAY 09:- VISAKPATNAM

Drive to Visakpatnam (4 HRS & 160KM) to catch the train/flight for your next destination.
